Since September 1, 2026, a new rule from the French Athletics Federation applies to all running competitions. It will therefore also affect participants in the Trail du Grand Ballon. When picking up your bib, you must now be able to prove your identity. This measure is notably intended to prevent bib swaps or resales between participants without an official registration change. In practical terms, what changes? When collecting bibs, proof of identity matching the name on the registration must be presented. The regulations also recall an essential principle: each participant must run under their own identity and with the bib officially assigned to them. This check is particularly important for safety reasons. In the event of emergency service intervention or an accident on the course, the information associated with the bib number must match the person wearing it. Do you want to transfer your bib? Therefore, do not simply give your bib to another person. The change of participant must strictly be made before the race, via our transfer procedure, so that the new runner is properly registered. So remember: for your next Trail du Grand Ballon, remember to bring your proof of identity to collect your bib.
